Ontology Studio · Learning resources
Ontology primer and Studio workshop.
Learn how concepts, relationships and evidence support a business question. Then build a small model, review its sources and test an answer in the Studio.
Free, no form. The deck retains the supplied 44-slide foundation lesson and technical appendix, followed by ten new workshop slides numbered W01–W10. Examples use fictional organizations, records and amounts.
Choose a route through the material
Executive introduction: explore ambiguous business language, the difference between a model and facts, and what an AI answer needs beyond fluent text. Use foundation slides 3–12, 20–21, 24–27 and 35.
Foundation lesson: slides 1–38 introduce classes, instances, relationships, the Semantic Web, retrieval, provenance and evaluation. Slides 39–44 provide technical examples and primary reading.
Studio workshop: W01–W10 apply the ideas to a bounded knowledge collection. Financial-services, insurance and PE/VC exercises ask participants to make scope, dates and missing evidence explicit.
Teach the workshop or work through it yourself
The companion guide supplies a suggested agenda, a participant worksheet, answer keys and common misconceptions. It explains why a definition is not a current fact, a citation must support its claim, and an ontology does not grant access to data.

What to prepare
A guest Studio project is sufficient. Use the fictional exercises or short, authorized, non-sensitive business-meaning material. Accounts and paid AI requests are not required. Keep a full backup separate from the export you intend to deliver.
Studio is Beta. It supports practical definitions, relationships, evidence review and AI context. Formal OWL reasoning, SHACL execution and enterprise approval authority require appropriate tools and processes outside the builder. User-entered review names and comparison scores are records of what a user entered.
Optional AI drafting sends selected evidence through the hosted request service to the chosen provider, after confirmation of destination and possible API charge. Read the privacy notice and cloud terms before using organizational material.
